Owner Jamie Finley and co-owner Marcos Toro have teamed up to create the most delicious and diverse selection of food I have ever experienced! If you want some tasty fried seafood, go here! In the mood for sushi? Rollin Local has got you covered. Maybe you want a juicy grilled burger, that’s good, because Rollin Local has that too! Would you like a perfectly crafted taco? Rollin Locals got it! I absolutely love what this dynamic duo has brought to Front Street. I am beyond excited to share my experience with all of you in hopes that you, all of you, will go try this local phenomenon!
My two favorite menu items to start with are the Crab Balls and the SC Crunch Roll. The Crab Balls are soft delicious morsels of crab perfectly flavored and melt in your mouth with each devilish bite. To top it off you dip these little pieces of heaven in a creamy remoulade sauce that will have you eating the entire appetizer by yourself! After devouring down the Crab Balls then you must try some of Rollin Locals Sushi of course. The SC Crunch Roll never disappoints! This roll has crispy tempura crab, jalapeno for a little kick, and rich cream cheese all rolled up in a blanket of rice and seaweed. Then topped with shrimp, fresh avocado, eel sauce, and spicy mayo. A Sushi lovers dream! I may be driving to Rollin Local tonight! Writing about their food is making me want to try more!
Even though your stomach may be warning you to stop eating after several appetizers, don’t! The main course is going to be well worth having an overly full stomach. So far my favorite meal is the Hibachi Shrimp Tacos with the Fried Zucchini. The Hibachi Tacos come in a set of three. Each flour tortilla is overflowing with fried rice, seasoned shrimp (chicken or steak), and tender veggies then topped with a sweet and savory eel sauce and a slightly spicy mayo. Be prepared to open your mouth wide for each scrumptious bite of these tacos! Now, do not substitute the side of Fried Zucchini that comes with these tacos because you will regret it, trust me! Rollin Locals Fried Zucchini is the absolute best thing I have ever eaten! I wish I knew what was in the breading of this genius flouring that covers each delectable piece of zucchini, because it is to die for! Zucchini never tasted so good! I will drive an hour just for their Fried Zucchini alone! My second favorite meal is the Fried Flounder which you can get as a meal itself or get it with the Local Seafood Platter. Either way you won’t be disappointed. The batter Rollin Local uses to fry their seafood is flawlessly done. It is well seasoned, and is not overly heavy as to overwhelm the seafood. None of the seafood was dripping with grease which is always a huge plus with me. I do not like greasy seafood! The flounder itself is cooked to perfection! Tender and satisfyingly flaky. If you get the Local Seafood Platter (which you should), you not only get the flounder, but you will also get to enjoy some big juicy oysters that burst with flavor in your mouth as you chew up each and every last piece! But, that’s not all! On top of all that you also get Rollin Locals buttery spiced shrimp that will tip you from full to completely stuffed and happy!
